"Saved $38,400 on our drayage renewal pulling out of the Port of Long Beach. Our last broker hadn't shopped us in four years. These folks actually pushed three carriers to compete."

"Had a rollover on the 99 in month two. Our producer sat with us through the adjuster call and made sure the settlement reflected the actual replacement value. That's the difference."

    Frequently asked questions

Single-truck operators in California typically pay between $14,500 and $19,800 a year with a clean MVR. Rates move with truck class, cargo, radius, CSA scores, and years behind the wheel. Drayage running the Ports of LA and Long Beach pays more thanks to dense traffic on the I-710 and CARB compliance overhead. New MC holders usually run 25 to 45 percent above seasoned operators for the first 12 months.
California intrastate for-hire carriers must carry $750,000 in combined single limit liability under the CPUC's MCP-65 program (higher for petroleum and hazmat). Interstate carriers over 10,001 lbs hauling non-hazardous freight must carry $750,000 under FMCSA. Hazmat and HM-181 haulers run $1M to $5M based on cargo class. Intrastate property carriers also need a CA Number issued by the CHP and CARB Clean Truck Check enrollment.
If your paperwork is in order (MVR, CDL, prior loss runs, current dec page, CA Number, MCP cert), we quote, bind, and file MCP-65 with the CPUC or MCS-90 with FMCSA inside four hours on a business day. Certificates of insurance go out to your shippers the same hour.
Yes. We hold appointments with Progressive, Canal, Sentry, and surplus markets that specifically write new-venture California trucking. We also help with MC applications, BOC-3 process agents, UCR registration, your CA Number, and CARB Clean Truck Check sign-up.
Intrastate carriers operate inside California and answer to the CPUC and CHP, with $750,000 minimum CSL under MCP-65 (more for hazmat and petroleum). Interstate carriers cross state lines and answer to FMCSA with the same $750,000 minimum on most non-hazmat freight. File the wrong one and CHP weigh stations on I-5 or I-10 will park the truck until the right cert and CA Number are on record.
Yes. We file MCP-65 (and MCP-66 for household goods movers) with the California Public Utilities Commission for intrastate carriers, plus MCS-90 or BMC-91X with FMCSA for interstate carriers, directly, same business day on binding. Form H cargo filings are handled too. Filing is included at no extra charge.
